For Sale: 1950 MG TD

Posted: February 18, 2024

I have a 1950 MG TD that has been in our family since 1975. This car does run but does need some bodywork and a good tune up ! You certainly could do a full restore if you wanted. There is some front fender damage, along with a kink in the chrome bumper. It is pretty much original, although it had a paint job in about 2004 and a new tonneau cover for the top.

This classic British sports car comes with some extras too. As my father was a member of the British Racing Drivers Club (BRDC), we have many manuals, books, paperwork, and the UK history of the car, plus a Rubbermaid container of parts brought over from the BRDC. It has always been stored inside since 1975, but has not been driven regularly for a while.

Price: $14,500

For Sale: 1962 Triumph TR4

Posted: November 21, 2023

This Triumph TR4 was purchased new in British Columbia in 1961 and driven for a number of years before being stored. The restoration was started about 2021. The mechanicals, engine, and running gear work was completed by RWM & Co at Boundary Bay Airport. The car then went to Victoria where the body was fully restored. This is a rust and filler-free car. There are hundreds of pictures detailing the work done. This private body shop has restored multiple cars for us in the past and all have won many awards at car shows.

The car currently has steel wheels on it, but it has the splines to convert it to wire wheels. Most of the parts to complete the car are included. It will need final metal finishing and fitting, including a wiring harness, paint, new tires, convertible top and assembly. There are two roll bars for the car. It would make a very successful vintage racer. The most difficult part of this restoration project has been completed. It even comes with the original TR4 Owner’s Manual!

Due to the original owner’s ongoing health issues, we are not able to finish this project, much as we would like to. The asking price is considerably less than what has been invested to date.

Price: $29,000

For Sale: 1967 Mk2 Cortina Lotus Twin Cam Street Legal Vintage Racer

Brent Martin photo

Updated: October 31, 2023

The Mk2 Cortina Lotus was not only more reliable than the original classic but troublesome Mk1, but it was also available in left hand drive and had a more powerful engine. This meticulously maintained Mk2 example was first raced by its current owner in July 1992 at Seattle International Raceway (now Pacific Raceways). Its racing history includes 94(!) vintage events at tracks such as, Seattle, Portland International Raceway (PIR), Bremerton, Spokane, Reno, Thunderhill, Sears Point (Sonoma), Laguna Seca, Buttonwillow, Lime Rock, Watkins Glen, Road America/Elkhart Lake, and of course Mission (shown above), where it has been a regular performer the last few seasons.

The powertrain features all steel crankshaft and twin camshafts, a stainless steel exhaust system, a pre-start engine oiling system and low oil pressure warning light, a switch for operating the cooling fan with the engine off, a four-speed Quaife close-ratio transmission and a limited slip differential. The body has a full interior that has been supplemented for racing with a roll bar, a racing seat, a five-point safety harness, a fuel cell (race gas only), a Halon fire suppression system, plus period-correct Smith speedometer and tach.

The most recent performance tuning was done in late 2020. Although this Cortina Lotus is a very competitive Vintage racing car, it is also fully street-legal and registered.

Price on application. Serious enquiries only please.

For Sale: 1963 Lotus 23 / Brahma Sports Racer

Updated Price: December 24, 2023

This 1963 Lotus23/Brahma is a period (1963) built copy of Peter Revson’s Lotus 23. It was built by John Sharrigan and Paul Fitzgerald in their shop – “Speedway Custom” – in Alliston, Massachusetts. It was originally powered by a Coventry Climax FWA 1100cc engine for the SCCA  “G Modified” class in which it had multiple wins against Elva Mk 5/6’s and Lotus 23’s, ‘back in the day’.
A full restoration was carried out in January 2003. It now has a Ford Cosworth BDA 1600cc and a Hewland FT 200 gearbox. It raced in SVRA Group 5 from 2003 to 2010.
The following spares are included: a custom car cover, a transponder, one (1) set of new Avon treaded race tires mounted on Revolution wheels, one (1) set of soft springs, fifteen (15) sets for gear ratios, a gear cluster/fork set up gauge, a crown wheel and pinion set up gauge, plus numerous other ‘bits and pieces’.
This is a very well known and competitive vintage racer with great east coast history. The car is located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Posted: April 22, 2023

This 1959 Austin Healey is possibly the most continually active and recognized Big Healey vintage racing car in the United States! For many enthusiasts, the 100-6 is the most desirable of all of the Big Healeys; having all of the benefits of six cylinders over the four of the original 100-4, but none of ‘the fancy stuff’ added to the later 3000 series cars.

This classic has had a lot of of race preparation, including a custom engineered cooling system, J.E. Pistons, a DMD aluminum block and DMD aluminium head, triple Weber 45’s, MSD ignition system, Fuel Safe fuel cell and Holley fuel pump. For Sale: 1965 Beach Formula Vee and Trailer

Posted: March 9, 2023

In the early sixties, Beach Formula Vees were a dominant force. This classic, Vintage-eligible, 1965 Beach Formula Vee MKC5 needs some TLC but has great potential. The car will need a rebuild, plus the roll bar welded and the 1200cc engine is not currently running. but this is a very doable project for any amateur enthusiast. Other Vintage Vee racers are always willing to help anyone who asks. Formula Vees arguably offer more competitive racing and just overall fun per dollar invested than any other Vintage racing class.
Included in the sale are a spare 1200cc block with pistons, etc., as well as the ICBC-registered flatbed trailer shown in the photos.
Both the car and trailer are located on Mayne Island, B.C. They can be delivered to Vancouver or Victoria for a $200 fee, if a deposit is paid. Other delivery options may be possible.
Price: CAN$8,000 (or US$5,900)

It is powered by the excellent Yamaha DOHC 24 valve, V6 producing 220 hp and backed up by a five speed gearbox. The SHO delivered 143 mph/ 230 kph out of the box together with great gas mileage.  This example is fairly close to clean “survivor” condition, It has approximately $10,000 in performance upgrades including urethane suspension components, Koni shocks, stainless header and exhaust, and the Wilwood “SHOstopper” brake conversion.
