The SCCBC’s final event for 2017 was held over the October 14-15 weekend and our Vintage racers hit the track on the Sunday as usual. The weather was perfect for a good grid of Vintage cars plus one special guest, Larry Sandham in his Mini Vauxhall. The Vintage results are available under the Results menu (here). The full results for the weekend are available on the SCCBC web site (here).

Enjoy some of Brent Martin’s photos of the Vintage action below. Then go to his web site (here) and check out all of his photos for this weekend and the rest of the 2017 and previous seasons. Thanks Brent!

See you at the track in 2018!

VRCBC members are always travelling the world of motorsports and sending back reports for our web site. Our most recent reporters were Al Reid and Pierce Isaacs, who took part in an excursion to England in September, culminating in a visit to the great Goodwood Revival Meeting. They were ably supported by Steve Jones, a retired Lotus Seven Vintage racer from Calgary.

During this trip they visited: the Morgan Motor Company factory, the Cotswold Motoring Museum, the new Jaguar factory where the F-Type is made, the British Motor Museum, Desmond J, Smail Limited (Aston Martin specialists), the Aston Martin Works, the Williams F1 Museum, the National Motor Museum and of course, the Goodwood Revival weekend.

That was a lot to do and see in only eight days but our intrepid correspondents came through heroically, selecting the following photos (from hundreds) to illustrate their adventure for us.

Local racing ‘legend’ (ahem) Keith Robinson carried the VRCBC’s flag (well, our decals) into battle during the 50th anniversary of Formula Ford races at the Indianapolis Speedway in June. These Formula Ford races were part of the SVRA’s big Open Wheel World Challenge event.

The VRCBC took advantage of the BC Historic Motor Races to carry out some initial testing of the new clear cockpit canopy being proposed for introduction with the 2018 Open Wheel Vintage Racing rules on April 1st.  The design work was done by the (in)famous ‘Arold’s Engineering of Chipping Sodbury.

Further information will become available once Tom Johnston Racing completes final wind tunnel testing in North Vancouver.
